How I Work

I work with digital marketing agencies and lifestyle eCommerce businesses to produce blog posts and social media content.

When you hire me, you’ll get evergreen, search engine optimized content and share-worthy social media graphics for your blog posts.

That's the end result.

But how do we get there? What’s involved in the content creation process?

The following information explains how we'll work best together.

My 5-Step Content Production Process

1. Content Requirements & Questionnaire

I begin my content writing process with a deep-dive into your niche.

I’ll send you a content questionnaire that will capture your audience’s pain points, your editorial guidelines and the content’s tone and voice. (You can view and download my content questions in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.)

( I am more than happy to sign NDA's at this step, but even without them, your work is always confidential and safe with me.)

Or, if you have a creative brief, and voice and tone guidelines for the project, you can send it to me here at mechele@thebcstudio(dot)com.

Questions will include:

  • What are your products or services?
  • Who are your target buyer personas?
  • Is there a style manual to follow? Do you have established brand and image guidelines?
  • What is your USP (unique selling proposition?), i.e., “What sets you apart from competitors?”
  • What are the SEO keywords and phrases you want to target?

2. Keyword & Competitive Market Research

Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, I’ll research the top-performing content in your niche.

Using competitive search tools like Ahrefs, Answer the Public, and Frase, I'll identify content gaps and generate blog post ideas that'll educate and entertain your customers.

I'll also identify the searcher intent behind your main and LSI keywords to help create an article that will rank and connect with your customers.

(You can view and download my health and beauty content research process in Google Docs.)

3. Blog Outline & Content Creation

For each blog post, I’ll deliver an outline of the article for your review.

(You can view and download my content outline document in Google Docs.)

I will use subheads and bullet points to enhance readability and will link to any research I cite.

I will also provide 5 keyword-rich headlines, images, and screenshots that correspond with your product offerings.

I’ll also optimize your articles for search engines and include a content upgrade/lead magnet idea that you can use to collect new subscribers/customers.

Each standard 500-1500 word blog post includes:

  • Concept & Research
  • Exclusive Rights
  • 2 high-resolution custom images or screenshots
  • 3 outbound links
  • 2 inbound links
  • 1 call to action
  • 2 revisions

4. Graphic Design

The design and the overall usability of your blog immediately affect how first-time visitors view you and your brand.

In fact, articles with relevant featured images get 94% more page views than those without.

So before your blog post goes live, I’ll create custom graphics for your Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and, Twitter accounts to help promote your posts and drive engagement.

I also include 2 images with each post to break up the flow of text and to keep readers from bouncing back to the SERPs.

5. Content Launch

Congratulations!  You're ready to launch your new blog post and cash in the checks!

I'll submit the articles to you via Google Docs or will add a Word Document to our shared Dropbox folder. I’ll also send any accompanying images in a ZIP file.

I’ll also be ready and available to make sure the copy and design look great on your website and come together in the best possible way.

Also, if your content needs an extra boost in the SERPs, you can hire me (for an additional fee) to update your article titles, on page copy, meta description, keywords, headlines, content length, and ALT tags to help double or triple your existing blog traffic.
